Meeting the highest safety and security requirements with heroal systems

Verl, Jul 2025. With certified solutions for burglary resistance, emergency exits and escape routes, and fire and smoke protection, heroal – Johann Henkenjohann GmbH & Co. KG enables the comprehensive implementation of safety and security concepts in commercial, industrial and public buildings. Despite meeting the most stringent safety requirements, these holistic system solutions integrate seamlessly into architectural designs. Visually indistinguishable from versions without special protective functions, they allow for consistent design concepts. In addition, heroal’s coordinated product portfolio offers added value in terms of functionality, design and comfort – and impresses with efficient production, simple installation, and a wide range of design options for the building shell.

Certified safety for façades, windows, doors and roller shutters

To ensure the reliable planning of industrial, commercial and public buildings, heroal offers a comprehensive portfolio of modular system solutions in certified burglar-resistant versions. The heroal W 72 and W 77 window systems, heroal D 72 door system and the heroal C 50 façade system are all available with certified burglary resistance up to RC 3.

As a complementary solution, the heroal RS 37 RC 2 and RC 3 security roller shutters – certified in accordance with DIN EN 1627 – can be integrated into the façade design with great flexibility. The high level of protection they afford stems from the use of high-quality materials. The RC 2 version is made from high-grade aluminium, while the heroal RS 37 RC 3 achieves a higher resistance class thanks to a special stainless steel alloy. heroal roller shutter systems also achieve top marks thanks to well thought-out design details such as the tilt latch end slat and anti-push-up device. Moreover, the roller shutters are available in large dimensions and floor-to-ceiling formats, while also allowing smart home integration with motors from various manufacturers, ensuring maximum versatility and adaptability.

heroal D 72 RC 3: Secure escape routes with certified burglary resistance

The heroal D 72 commercial door system offers tested and certified door solutions for emergency exits and escape routes in accordance with DIN EN 179 and DIN EN 1125. High-quality hardware variants designed for long-term use in high-traffic areas and maximum production sizes support flexible adaptation to a wide range of building concepts. The single- and double-leaf heroal D 72 RC 3 full panic door complies with both DIN EN 1125 and DIN EN 1627 (RC 3), combining a reliable emergency exit function with certified burglary resistance up to RC 3. The door system offers a wide variety of configuration options – including accessible and zero-threshold thresholds, surface-mounted and roller door hinges, self-locking locks, as well as variants with side panels, fanlights and panel infills.

Versatile fire protection solutions for maximum safety

With its fire protection platform, heroal offers comprehensive aluminium system solutions that combine top-level safety standards with aesthetic design. The modular door and façade systems can be flexibly adapted to meet individual project requirements, allowing seamless integration of doors and façades and a visually unified transition to areas without fire protection requirements. High component compatibility, efficient fabrication, reduced installation times, and outstanding profile strength make the platform particularly economical and versatile.

heroal FireXtech D 93 FP 30 CE

The heroal FireXtech D 93 FP fire door system was developed as a central door solution. In indoor applications, heroal D 93 FP impresses with general building authority approval and a modular design for fire protection barriers of 30 or 90 minutes. The D 93 FP 30 and D 93 FP 90 variants are officially approved in accordance with EN 1634-1 and DIN 4102-5/-13 and can optionally be extended to include smoke protection in line with DIN 18095-1. In Austria and Switzerland, the system complies with classifications EI 30 and EI 90. For outside use, the thermally separated heroal D 93 FP 30 CE system offers certified safety in accordance with EN 16034 (EI2 30 – C5 with 200,000-cycle continuous function) and EN 14351-1. This version can also be optionally equipped with smoke protection (Sa/S200). A particular highlight: the heroal D 93 FP 30 CE fire door can be seamlessly integrated as a single- or double-leaf fire protection barrier into the heroal C 50 FP EI 30 fire protection façade.

The heroal C 50 FP fire protection façade enables a continuous, visually uniform façade design that matches areas without fire protection requirements implemented using the heroal C 50 façade system. Based on this proven curtain wall system, the heroal C 50 FP has been tested in accordance with EN 1364-3 and classified as EI 30 i<->o under EN 13501-2. With just a few additional components – including the patented Fireblock insulator – this solution delivers high safety performance and energy efficiency, and is also available in the highly thermally insulated variant heroal C 50 FP HI. The façade can be configured as either a curtain wall or recessed façade.

heroal C 50 FB

For additional protection, the heroal C 50 FB (Fire Barrier) system variant offers a fully integrated solution to prevent fire flashover between storeys. Whether used as a fire protection parapet, a fire protection skirt, or a combined element, it meets the requirements of fire resistance class EI 90 (EN 1364-4:2014) and blends in perfectly with the overall façade design – for a consistent, premium aesthetic with smooth transitions between building areas with and without protection requirements.
